    Laura Vanhulle: Angles in Life
Production & Technical Management for Contemporary Dance

Angles in Life is a powerful fusion of live contemporary dance and immersive film projection, creating a striking world of optical illusion on stage. This visually stunning performance transports audiences into a dreamlike, cinematic realm — where movement, light, and high-definition video artfully converge across three expansive projection surfaces.

Chris was brought on board from the earliest stages of development, before Arts Council funding was secured. As production manager and technical director, he provided expert guidance and strategic planning to bring the creative vision to life. From budget-conscious technical solutions to full-scale production coordination, his leadership ensured seamless integration of projection, lighting, and live performance.

“Chris was involved from the absolute beginning, even before I had funding. His technical knowledge and production expertise made the impossible feel achievable. On a tight budget, he made everything happen—managing projections, technology, and lighting design with complete professionalism.”
    Laura Vanhulle, Choreographer

With a deep understanding of both the choreographic process and cinematic design, we developed a tour-ready technical setup, including scalable staging, adaptable lighting design, and synchronized media playback. The result: a dynamic and tourable production that maintains its full visual impact in every venue.

    Dramatic Need: Children's Monologues
Expert Production & Technical Management for Live Charity Events

Delivering high-impact performances under tight timelines and charitable constraints is no small feat—but that’s exactly what we did with Dramatic Need: Children’s Monologues. In the words of trustee Amber Sainsbury:

“Save our bacon, work for peanuts (it’s a charity, don’t you know!), stay cool as cucumbers—and put on a world-class show with some of the biggest names in the business in under 8 hours—and make it all look easy.”

From concept to curtain, we provided full-scale production management, technical direction, and on-site coordination to ensure every element—from lighting and audio to staging and run-of-show—was flawlessly executed, even under extreme time pressure.

Our work with Dramatic Need began in 2010 at The Old Vic, supporting a stellar cast including Benedict Cumberbatch and Sir Ben Kingsley. We’ve since managed technical delivery for two additional performances—at the Royal Court Theatre and Carnegie Hall in New York—each with a bespoke approach tailored to the venue and creative vision.

From backstage logistics to live performance technical support, our role ensured smooth integration of performance, technology, and talent. The result: bringing powerful stories to life with professionalism and heart.

    Pride of Birmingham

Pride of Birmingham – Production & Technical Delivery at Town Hall, Birmingham

Transforming a venue for a one-night-only event means more than just installing equipment—it’s about understanding the soul of the space and the significance of the stories being told within it. When we were invited to provide production and technical management for the inaugural Pride of Birmingham Awards, presented by the Birmingham Mail at the iconic Town Hall, our challenge was clear: deliver an experience that honored both the heritage of the venue and the deeply personal journeys of the award recipients.

Every awards ceremony is a story in motion—a journey culminating in that walk to the stage. Drawing inspiration from this narrative arc, we placed particular emphasis on the visual storytelling, enhancing the powerful films created by Blue Monday with a high-definition projection setup that was bold, bright, and emotionally resonant.

To make each recipient’s final steps toward recognition feel meaningful, we designed and built a bespoke set element: custom staging and steps that symbolized the path to acknowledgment. The result was a thoughtfully designed visual environment that complemented the event's tone, offering both elegance and purpose.

From a technical perspective, we relied on our proven expertise in event production design, AV installation, and stage build, delivering a cohesive aesthetic aligned with the ceremony’s brand. Our high-spec AV systems ensured that every video presentation honored its subject with clarity and impact. The result: bringing each story vividly to life.
